I like eagles, but why do they stay so far away? This guy just would not come any closer, so this picture is already cropped down. I sat there for far too long, waiting for some motion, and got this great moment captured. But without enough light, or zoom capability, I just could not get enough detail in the wings or feathers. Trying to manual focus on a bird that far away isn't working either. It's just not possible to see the detail in the wings to focus on, at the depth of field in measured in inches.
Oh well. One day a wide open 400mm-500mm AF lens will be mine. But not today.
